The Arizona Chapter is still a viable, sustainable, an asset to the state and to the Maintenance Superintendent’s Association.
We have continued to produce excellent programs, events and training. This was evident by the attendance of 245 people at our Tom Sheetz Memorial Equipment Rodeo.
Arizona’s membership is a total of 116 members. We have 5 Lifetime members, 1 honorary member, 80 regular members and 30 Vendor members. At the end of the year in 2009 we had 109 members and 2008 closed out with 197 members. We close the books with $13,708.83 on hand to start the new year.
We have conducted our business wisely and exercised prudence financially. We are still healthy in spite of the trend. We have continued to support the educational aspirations of our members and extended family by providing scholarships for 14 students in 2010. We have 12 more students enrolled for Spring 2011 classes. We are still provided the “Introduction to Public Works” and “Public Works Supervision” classes. Hopefully by next fall we will have 3 more classes ready to go on line.
This year, the Superintendent of the Year Award was presented to Lory Warren and the Vendor or the Year Award went awarded to Dave Troyanek. Both are deserving individuals who have invested much of their personal time to the betterment of the industry, the chapter and the Association.
We are a Chapter of resilience and tenacity. We will not be satisfied to just survived. We are winners.
